Feeling confused or stuck? We've made a list of answers to the questions we're asked most frequently. Check here first and if you can't find what you're looking for, contact our customer service team at support@bcelebrated.com. We make every effort to respond to emails within one business day.

What does an activator do? What are his/her responsibilities?

An activator is responsible for:
  1. Reading your last wishes and communicating them to family and loved ones.
  2. Updating your site with memorial information.
  3. Activating your Bcelebrated site at the time of your passing, either by initiating the activation process or confirming the activation initiated by another activator.
  4. Contacting phone-only contacts by phone.
Here's how it works:
  1. When you assign someone to be your activator, Bcelebrated will send them an email asking them if they accept this responsibility. The email includes instructions on how to accept the responsibility and what that responsibility entails, although we highly recommend you discuss this role with them personally before assigning them to be an activator.

  2. To accept the responsibility of being an activator, your activator will follow the steps outlined in the email.

  3. Once your activators have accepted the responsibility, they will receive an email explaining what to do when it is time to activate your site. They don't have any further responsibilities until the time of your passing.

  4. At the time of your passing, your activators will follow the steps in the email to log onto your site, review your last wishes, update the memorial information with pertinent details, and activate your site.

  5. The first activator to log onto your Bcelebrated site will initiate the activation process. A second activator is required to log onto your site as well to confirm the activation. This confirmation will initiate the email notification system that will send a notification to all of your Bcelebrated contacts.
For activators: see the Activate a site section for more questions and help on the process of activating a site.
